The extraordinary story behind one of the greatest innings in cricket history.
In November 2023, Glenn Maxwell produced an innings that stunned the cricketing world.
Crippled by injury, battling pain and barely able to run, he smashed an unbeaten 201 against Afghanistan at the Cricket World Cup—an impossible double century that transformed certain defeat into one of Australia's most famous victories. It was an innings many consider the greatest ever played in one-day cricket.
But just twelve months earlier, Maxwell was lying in a hospital bed with a shattered leg, facing the possibility that his career might be over.
